The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration plans to propose fuel efficiency standards starting with model year 2016 commercial medium- and heavy-duty on-highway vehicles, and said it will prepare and environmental impact statements as part of the procedure.

Passenger car tolls will rise July 1 on seven state-owned bridges that crisscross the San Francisco Bay, while truck tolls will jump a year and two years from then, according to the Bay Area Toll Authority.
