Oil held near $71 a barrel early Monday, following a big drop Friday, on concerns that Europe’s debt crisis could keep demand low, Bloomberg reported. Oil rose to more than $72 a barrel early Tuesday, up slightly from the previous two trading days, in advance of a government inventory report due out this week, Bloomberg reported. Oil rose from a two-week low to near $78 a barrel early Monday following reports of increases in Chinese manufacturing output, Bloomberg reported. Oil held at more than $75 a barrel early Thursday, a one-year high, in advance of an Department of Energy weekly report on fuel inventories, Bloomberg reported. The consumer price index rose 0.2% in September, the Labor Department said Thursday. |
